Meet Adrian Quintanar, Owner of VIVA Pottery
Adrian lives and works in his home town, Fort Worth, Texas. His experience of working with ceramics spans over two decades. It began in 2002 when Adrian was working in a dental laboratory and was trained to sculpt teeth out of porcelain. It was then that his job title became “ceramicist”. He worked with his hands and discovered a love for working three-dimensionally. His dental lab career lasted 12 years until he decided to go back to college to study art. It was in art school, at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, that he took his first ceramics class and used a pottery wheel for the first time. Adrian earned his BFA in 2016 and received a residency at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Art for 2018. He taught and worked in Arkansas as a full time studio potter in the museum school for 4 years. After those years of study and training, Adrian moved back to Texas, earned a teacher’s certification and began his high school art teaching career.
All of these experiences led Adrian to fulfilling his dream of becoming a full time artist and owning his own art studio and gallery.
